As a family owned and operated plumbing company for over 35 years, Bill Howe came across water damage often from burst water heaters, pinhole leaks, and drain line cracks. In 2008, Bill Howe established Bill Howe Water Restoration & Flood Services in order to offer San Diego customers a place to take care of all of their plumbing and water damage needs.

Dealing with water damage, fire or mold-related property damage is a stressful time. The dedicated Bill Howe response team is skilled at mitigating stress, guiding customers through the restoration process from start to finish.

Bill Howe Restoration & Flood Services works directly with insurance companies, adhering to industry standards and protocol while providing quality workmanship. Bill Howe specialists provide all industry documentation to insurance claim adjusters while working directly for the customer by using the latest technology and equipment.
Bill Howe Restoration & Flood offers free estimates, performs all work to the highest standards, and ensures each customer has a direct project manager to assist in streamlining the process.

The first step in emergency restoration will begin with a highly trained specialist assessing the category of water loss once on site. Each category of water loss can quickly escalate to further contamination. It is important to hire a trusted San Diego flood restoration professional to mitigate further damage from the loss and begin the flood damage restoration process as quickly as possible.

Category 1

Water damage refers to “clean” or “fresh” water and can be from sources like water shutoff valves, toilet tank leaks, and under sink water filtration systems. Category 1 does not pose an immediate health risk to occupants, but can quickly escalate to category 2 or 3.

Category 2

Referred to as “grey” water, category 2 loss contains chemical or biological contaminants that could be dangerous to occupants. Sources of grey water include water heaters, toilet overflows (where no waste is present), and laundry overflows.

Category 3

Known as “black” water, category 3 is severe water loss and is harmful to individuals. Blackwater can start as a category 1 or 2. It can originate from the main sewer overflows, storm waters, and/or standing waters and ground surface waters. Category 3 contaminated water contains unsanitary bacteria, fungi, pathogens, and can cause serious illness requiring specialized containment and mitigation.

Common Water Loss Scenarios

Plumbing leaks and drain line breaks are responsible for many instances of water damage. In extreme cases, burst water heaters, pipes, and even shutoff valves underneath kitchen sinks can cause major flooding leading to an extensive water restoration cleanup process. With Bill Howe, property owners can expect a quick response to emergency restoration needs and assist with plumbing repairs.

Rainwater and city infrastructure failures can also cause water damage and flood water entering homes and businesses. Although it doesn't rain often in San DIego, many areas throughout the county are ill equipped to deal with the amount of rain we receive. Some reasons for this include poor drainage, dry conditions prior to the rains, and in many cases, flooding occurs in the valleys and low lying areas.

With the IICRC certified team on site, quick remediation plans will be created to save property and belongings, offer communication while assisting with all insurance agencies to alleviate the stress water damage causes. Bill Howe is also able to provide reconstruction and return the property back to pre loss conditions.

Damage Restoration Process

In water damage scenarios, the first step is to mitigate the water and avoid further contamination. If you suspect water damage due to moisture presence or plumbing leaks, we recommend contacting a professional restoration company immediately.

Policyholders can file a claim with insurance while contracting Bill Howe Restoration & Flood Services. We are IICRC certified and adhere to all industry standards and can work with insurance.

Professional restoration companies will assign a project manager and damage cleanup specialists to create a plan of action and communicate the process to policyholder. The IICRC certified team will determine the best methods of extraction and drying, communicating the process the entire way.

Once extraction, structural drying, contaminated items have been removed, and all affected materials (including building materials where necessary) have been removed, drying equipment will be left on site for the recommended period of time. During the drying period, Bill Howe will keep photo and moisture logs communicating with insurance adjusters and property owners.

All insurance policies are different, so it is important for homeowners to read the fine print and understand what is, and what is not covered.

Bill Howe’s San Diego flood services and restoration experts understand the importance of protecting your most valuable asset, your property and work quickly and efficiently to mitigate water, smoke and fire damage. Our San Diego water and flood cleanup team is trained and certified, adheres to all industry regulations and standards and will work directly with insurance to help return your home or business to pre loss conditions.

In the majority of water loss, fire and/or smoke damage, and emergency services, our IICRC certified team offers free on site estimates and are available 24-7 in the San Diego area.

Bill Howe Restoration & Flood Services also offers full reconstruction, kitchen and bathroom remodeling. Reconstruction free estimates can be booked online, through live chat, or by calling.
