Time for a Pre-season Heating Tune-up!

By having your system routinely tuned up and inspected, you can save money on costly repairs and have peace of mind that when it cools down, your heating in San Diego will be working at its optimal level. Just like your vehicle, fine tuning your heating system will help to find issues causing the system to run inefficiently, or repairs needed. What will a Bill Howe Heating tech in San Diego perform during your routine maintenance?

The first item on a tune up/inspection checklist is a safety inspection. A professional HVAC expert will ensure that your furnace is not emitting unsafe carbon monoxide levels. They will also recommend installing C02 detector if you do not already have one.

They will then perform temperature checks that will tell them if the system is heating efficiently before and after the heat exchanger.

Airflow is one of the most important aspects to consider when talking about your heating system. If airflow is blocked, it causes the system to work harder. The technician will then perform several checks including:

  • Electrical draw
