The Bill Howe Volunteer Team Reaches new Record Number at San Diego Food Bank

Established San Diego plumbing company starts 2015 off with a record turnout on volunteer night

January 27, 2015 San Diego, Calif. – San Diego Plumber, Bill Howe, and wife, Tina Howe know the importance of cultivating a “pay-it-forward spirit” in their company. From their long time sponsorship of the American Heart Association, employee led fundraising endeavors, and a regular volunteer team ready for any task, they are dedicated to living up their mission to “give back to the San Diego community,” and have been for 35 years as the largest family owned and operated San Diego plumbing company.

This past Wednesday volunteer night at the San Diego Food Bank set a new record number of employees and their families in attendance at 50 volunteers. The Bill Howe team arrives between 5:45 and 6:00 on volunteer night and is treated to dinner to fuel up for a night of hard work. The tasks each month vary from sorting donations, boxing delivery meals for local seniors, filling “backpacks” for children in San Diego County, measuring out rice and bagging fruit. This month, the crew of 50 sorted donations from local groceries and individual San Diego residents.   They successfully sorted and prepared over four pallets of donations to ready for distribution.

Bill Howe Plumbing has teamed up with the San Diego Food Bank month going on five years.  Bill and Tina Howe have encouraged the “pay-it-forward” spirit in their own family and their “Bill Howe Family” for years, believing that the company that plays together stays together. The well-known San Diego Plumbing Company has been family owned and operated since 1980. Not only are their daughters heavily involved in the daily operations of the company, but many employees’ family members work for the company as well.
