Second Annual Bill Howe Blues Music Fundraiser Supporting Warrior Foundation-Freedom Station
Bill Howe Plumbing’s Second Annual Blues Fundraiser for Warrior Foundation-Freedom Station
San Diego Plumber use the blues to raise funds for the Warrior Foundation-Freedom Station
August 31, 2017 San Diego, Calif. – Bill Howe Plumbing’s mission is to create an employee-friendly company, provide honest and affordable services to its customers, and give back to the community. For over 37 years, they have operated with their mission at the foundation and have remained one of the most successful companies serving plumbing in San Diego. They were chosen as the Best San Diego plumber in 2016, named a Top Workplace four year in a row, and have been chosen as Contractor of the year by the PHCC.
The Warrior Foundation-Freedom Station is “a place to where San Diego Warriors with broken bodies start their journey to a new life.” The organization runs on volunteers and 97 percent of funds go directly to warriors in need. The remaining monies go back to operating costs for programs such as Freedom Station, a local housing complex for transitioning warriors. Warrior Foundation Freedom Station works to assist warriors, and their families, as they transition to civilian life. They assist with jobs, housing, and provide a place for a hand up, not a handout.
On September 23, Bill Howe Plumbing will host the second San Diego Blues Music Fundraiser at Proud Mary’s Southern Bar & Grill. The live music event has three incredible blues acts featuring Fred Heath, Lady Star, and the Stoney B Blues Band. Bill Howe’s own San Diego plumber, Tom Safreed will also open the show with his blues harmonica. Tom has been performing pro bono plumbagin work for the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station for many years and is a big supporter of blues music in education.
“Last year’s event was a lot of fun and we raised over 2,000 for the Warrior Foundation,” said Tom Safreed. “This year, it is even better. We have amazing raffle prizes and a great lineup of the best Blues in San Diego.”
The Second Annual Blues Music Fundraiser is open to the public. Warrior Foundation-Freedom Station representatives will be present and Boogie Magazine is sponsoring the event. Music begins at 5 PM and ends at 7. Proud Mary’s is hosting the venue, and there is a $10 suggested donation that goes directly to the warrior foundation.
Raffle prizes include Tiffany’s Jewelry (donated by individual), Fender Stratocaster, Free Guitar Lessons, restaurant gift certificates, Harley Davidson Merchandise and much more. Arriver early to purchase raffle tickets, meet the musicians, the warriors, and enjoy cocktails & appetizers.
“Tom worked so hard to make this event happen,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of Bill Howe Plumbing. “We are excited to support him and the Warrior Foundation-Freedom Station. We are also thankful to all the generous community sponsors for donating gifts for our raffle.”
