San Diego Plumber Supporting San Diego Music Education at Spring Harp Fest 2014!
Have you got the April blues?
Our own Tom Safreed, expert San Diego plumber and harmonica enthusiast has the cure. Spring Harp Fest 2014! Tom has been part of the Bill Howe team for over 15 years. Although his area of expertise is in plumbing, his passion is music and he has been a part of the blues music scene in San Diego for many years. Part of his involvement has been to help bring music, specifically blues harmonica playing, to San Diego schools through his affiliation, and with the help of Bill Howe sponsorship, of Spring Harp Fest.
Tom Safreed, San Diego plumber, takes time between playing to jam with 2013 Spring Harp Fest attendee!
Founded in 1999, Spring Harp Fest promotes the “American art form [of] the blues harmonica.” For 15 years, players have been coming together in San Diego to perform, entertain and raise money for “Blues in the Schools” program, which is part of Blues Lovers United of San Diego, a non-profit organization. Bill Howe Plumbing and Tom Safreed have been proud sponsors for the past five years and hope you can join us on Saturday April 19 from 11-6PM.
The music festival is 100 percent free, although there is a suggested donation of $10, which is well worth the investment. Festival attendees will see Patrick “Blue Frog” Ellis, Dan “Dirty” Rice, Bubba McCoy, “Harmonica John” Frazer , Eric Von Herzen, from Social Distortion, with the Atomic Road Kings and many more, including our own Tom Safreed. Proceeds go to the music education program and the day is funded through 100 percent donations and volunteers!
If you’re feeling a little peckish during the event, don’t worry, Hooters’ Wings and Hodad’s burgers will be available. It is a family friendly event you don’t want to miss! So, if you want a cure for the blues, head to Harry Griffen Park in La Mesa for a free & fun family event benefitting music education.
2014 Spring Harp Fest begins at 11AM and will be entertaining the community throughout the day until 6PM at Harry Griffen Park, located at 9550 Milden Street in La Mesa, CA 91942. Join us for the whole day, or just stop by to hear our own Tom Safreed during the Unknown Player’s Jam at 1PM.
