Howe Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest
Together, Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. and the American Heart Association help promote healthy lifestyles among San Diego’s youth
March 1, 2011, San Diego, Calif. – Bill Howe Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. and the American Heart Association are proud to announce the “Howe” Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest. In an effort to help create heart health awareness throughout San Diego County, children ages 5-12 are encouraged to draw their image of a healthy heart. The contest runs until Friday, April 29th.
By submitting their drawing of a healthy heart, along with a brief description of what they do to keep their hearts healthy, participants will have the chance to win one of the following prizes: (1) Grand Prize: a $300 gift card to Toys “R” Us® and tickets for the winner and his/her parents to the American Heart Association’s Heart Beach Ball at the Hotel del Coronado; (2) Runners-up: two runners-up will each receive a $100 gift card to Toys “R” Us®. Additionally, every participant will receive the “Heart Health at Home” guide filled with fun ways to stay active and healthy at home.

Not only are obese children more at risk of health problems including high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, but they’re also more prone to low self-esteem, negative body image and depression. San Diego is no exception to this statistic either; heart disease is the number one cause of death in San Diego County.
