Bill Howe’s Got Heart
Bill Howe Plumbing in San Diego is a longtime supporter of the American Heart Association. For over six years, we have sponsored the AHA Heart Ball, and rally our team to participate in the AHA Heart Walk, raising funds and awareness of heart disease and stroke.
The 2016 Heart Walk celebrates its 25th anniversary as the premiere fundraising event to save lives from the country’s number 1 and number 5 Killers-Heart Disease and stroke. The heart walk recognizes survivors, honors those who have suffered from heart disease and stroke, and promotes heart-healthy living.
This year’s Heart Walk was held on September 17, and Bill Howe Plumbing had a great turnout in San Diego wiht their team, Bill Howe’s Got Heart, at Balboa Park. Over 30 Bill Howe team members and their families (and pups!) joined the over 25,000 walkers.
In addition to a donation of $1,000 from team Bill Howe’s Got Heart, San Diego’s Best Plumber (voted by Union Tribune readers’ poll, 2016) will once again kick off the Howe Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest for 2017.
The Healthy Hearts drawing contest is open to children in San Diego ages 5-12 and together with the AHA, promotes heart healthy living and awareness of heart disease and stroke. You can view past winners here, and stay tuned for more information to be released in November.
The contest runs for 3 months, January to March, and there are 4 age category winners, a Facebook favorite, and Grand Prize winner. Prizes in past years have included $250 Toys R Us gift cards and invitations to the Heart Ball.
Bill Howe’s mission has always been to build a company where employees can thrive, and promotes wellness and health, giving back to the community and providing honest and affordable services. The partnership with the AHA perfectly aligns with the company culture and 2017 will be an amazing year for heart healthy living.
