The San Diego plumber began the company with the mission to offer the highest quality services at affordable rates while creating a family culture in the local community.  In addition to a dedication to community excellence, Bill Howe Plumbing is the recipient of multiple awards including the latest “IT of the Year” presented by the San Diego Business Journal on April 4, 2013.

Bill Howe Sr. invested in future innovations and technology by hiring Mark Card in 1994; little did either of them know that they would grow as fast as they have and eventually, Mark’s efforts would propel him into an elite company of technological savants representing San Diego businesses.  When he began with the San Diego plumbing company, dispatch still printed calls and communicated information to the plumbers via pagers and payphones.  Mark brought Bill Howe Plumbing into current times when he joined the company and has continually evolved the technological advances the company relies on for information and growth. He was instrumental in the development of the software the company has used since its implementation, which has been ever changing with the growing needs of the company. He has a vigilant eye on future practices to invest in for Bill Howe Plumbing to operate at the top of their trade and his success has added to the list of awards held by Bill Howe Plumbing.

“Part of my responsibility involves making hard decisions every day,” said Mark Card, Chief Technology Officer of Bill Howe Plumbing. “Keeping over 80 technicians in the field with up-to-the-minute information, keeping communication lines open between the field, office and customer, while ensuring accuracy and relevancy of all reporting is a fluid effort that continues to change each day. I enjoy the challenge of anticipating the next steps to benefit the company and look forward to new technology being unveiled at Bill Howe.”

In 2012, Mark prepared for, and facilitated Bill Howe Plumbing’s biggest move in their 30-year history. He was responsible for the design of the new space, which tripled their square footage, from the “ground up.” He created the network infrastructure ensuring all systems would integrate with current needs and allow for implementation of change in new developments within the company. Because of his work, the move was seamless and at no point was the San Diego plumber offline. His efforts in Bill Howe’s continued growth earned him this prestigious award in the medium business category of he “IT of the Year” nominations for 2013.

We had other companies come out for estimates on what was considered a major job with jackhammers and replacing cast iron pipes under the house… having been stung before, we wanted another estimate just to make sure we were making an informed decision. The prior estimates went up to $21,000!
Bill Howe sent us an amazing veteran plumber, Dashawn and his co- worker Anthony. Dashawn did a thorough check of the problem, explained what he thought was needed … he did a final check and we were able to see for ourselves what was the problem. He recommended a complete cleaning to de-scale the pipes, and not the major work we dreaded. Thanks to his solid analysis and patience in making sure we saw what he saw, the issue was resolved completely, and saved us thousands of unnecessary work. None of the other estimates included the cleaning; only the major repairs. Thanks to Dashawn’s knowledge, professionalism and honesty, we’re Bill Howe customers.

This was our second excellent experience with Bill Howe. We had a blocked kitchen sink drain 8/5. I was able to get a same day appointment which is AMAZING. Person on phone was very courteous and set me up right away. Tony arrived at the house (called me 30 minutes out so I was able to be ready). He diagnosed the issue (blocked drain, not the garbage compactor) and was able to snake it and ran the water for 10 minutes to be sure the drains were clear. He cleaned up everything and you would not have known he was even there. Thank-you Tony and Bill Howe, you always know how.
