Bill Howe Family of Companies Presents 13 Company Awards at Year-end Party

Well-known San Diego plumbing company created 13 new employee recognition awards, including San Diego plumber of the Year for 2014

December 23, 2014 San Diego, Calif. – Bill Howe Family of Companies has become one of the largest family-owned and operated companies offering San Diego expert services in plumbing, heating & air conditioning and restoration & flood remediation. Part of the success of the well-established company has been the caliber of employee, and how well the employees are treated. Bill Howe hires San Diego plumbers, heating & air conditioning technicians, and water damage experts and then offers extensive training, consistent evaluation and growth opportunities and recognition to continue the company’s mission of creating happy and healthy employees.

Every year, the San Diego plumbing company hosts two major recognition events for the employees. In the summer, it is a family-focused affair with fun & games for kids, spouses and extended family members. But at the end of the year, they host an extravagant gala event to say thank you and spotlight the employees. The Bill Howe Recognition Party is always held at a large hotel, and includes gifts, dinner, dancing and special awards as a way for the San Diego plumber, Bill Howe and his wife, Tina, to say thank you. Spouses and significant others are invited to the formal event, which is usually themed and the company has also paid for hotel rooms the  past two years for all employees who wished to stay the night.

The 2014 Bill Howe Recognition Party was held at the Hilton Del Mar, and the year’s theme was, Disco Lightning. Employees dressed to the nines (and the seventies!) and were even treated to entertainment by “Tony Manero,” a Saturday Night Fever style performer. But the highlight of this year’s event was the creation and presentation of the first annual “Most Valuable Player” awards at Bill Howe.

The 2014 “MOP” awards were created to recognize the most “outstanding” technician/employee of the year and awards were presented in the following categories: Heating & Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Drain, Restoration (water), Reconstruction, Office and a special “Volunteer of the Year.” In addition to the company sponsored awards, each of the five Team Leaders in the plumbing division of Bill Howe presented a “Team Leader Choice” award to one of their team members for outstanding service, attitude, workmanship and overall performance for the year.  Each of the 2014 honorees were presented with an engraved crystal award and were recognized in the 2014 Yearbook.

“We have always done fun awards and special recognitions at our year-end party,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of the Howe Family of Companies. “This year we wanted to raise the bar and recognize employees who have consistently exceeded the Bill Howe standards. It was a difficult task to choose each honoree, and we are excited to make this an annual tradition.”

The 2014 “MOP” Award recipients are: Doug Bock, Volunteer of the Year, Melissa Taylor, Office Employee of the Year, Dustin Hollenbeck, HVAC Tech of the Year, Charles Lopez, Drain Tech of the Year, Amber Breer, Reconstruction Employee of the Year, Juan Santacruz, Restoration (water) Tech of the Year and Bill Howe’s San Diego plumber of the Year, Raul Miranda.
