I recently used Bill Howe for a large job replacing my furnace & AC. The crew on that 3 day project did a phenomenal job. I was so pleased. Upon completion of the project they gave me a card for 20% off on my next service of any kind. So when I had a leak under my kitchen sink, I called Bill Howe and asked to have a plumber come check the leak out.
First let me say that he did get the problem fixed eventually, but getting there was a slow and frustrating process. Within 20 minutes of arrival, he had identified the problem & said our best bet was to get a new faucet. He then re-installed the old faucet after taking it apart and told us if we went and purchased a new fixture, they could come back the next day and install. – Then for some reason, we don’t know why, he took the old faucet completely apart again. He spent another 30 minutes fiddling around with it. Each time he took it apart, we’d have to hold the top piece in place while he reattached the base under the sink. After a full hour, he departed, saying we would pay the bill once the install was completed.
I went out the following morning and purchased a new Delta faucet. Allen came back and it took him 4 hours to install – it was a simple easy install faucet – nothing fancy or difficult. He struggled the whole time, dropped a part down the hole and it went under the house, didn’t have a washer that he needed and had to leave for an hour and then came back. broke a vase that was sitting above the sink on a shelf. It was crazy! When I had to show him how to get under the housetop find the part he dropped , he looked at me and said ‘I am having a really bad day!’ I felt bad for him, honestly I did. At the two hour mark, I called the office and spoke to his manager who assured me his plumber knew what he was doing (even though it really seemed like he did not) and that we would only be charged for an hour of labor. Which was great and I appreciate it, but you really need to figure out why it took so much time and effort for a very basic job.
This service doesn’t change my mind about Bill Howe – I think this company provides excellent customer service, I think this was just a one-off sort of situation
