We have used Bill Howe plumbing several times over the past
Several years and always were happy with the results.
In fact, when Matt Tolar helped us the first time I have always
Called him directly to request him to do the work.
So when I called Matt in early November for a quote to install
A water line for an ice maker, install a new bathroom faucet, and
Fix a couple of leaking toilets, his quote of around $500 and 4 hours
Seemed reasonable. He showed up on time as usual and went right
To work. The new water line and the toilets were completed
In less then two hours, and he had the new faucet on shortly after
That. However when he was checking for any leaks with the
Faucet he found that the drain pipe going into the wall had
A small leak. That is when things went bad. He wasn’t able
To remove the old fitting and ended up having to go through the
Wall board and then actually cut out the entire drain pipe.
The entire process ended up taking 7 1/2 hours over two days.
And the bill came to $1255.12. Being on Social Security, that
Was a shock.
There is no question that Matt did a good job, and everything
Was cleaned up nice (of course we have to deal with the
Hole in the wallboard), I just wonder if there could have been
A less expensive way to handle it.
Just wanted to comment on it, but rest assured Bill Howe
Plumbing is still our Plummer.
Thanks,
Jim Hill
