Bill Howe Employees Give Back to Youth Community: Little Jumps, Big Changes

San Diego Plumbers “Jump” in to Make “Big Changes” for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego
Employees at local San Diego plumbing company donating spare change throughout the month of February for “Little Jumps, Big Changes”

February 13, 2018 San Diego, Calif. –Bill Howe Family of Companies has over 180 employees across three divisions in San Diego, plumbing, heating & air, restoration & flood remediation. The company’s mission is simple: provide a healthy and happy culture where employees can succeed, deliver the highest quality of services to customers, and give back to their local communities.

Part of Bill Howe’s community giving is through their corporate partnership with the Boys & Girl Clubs of Greater San Diego (BGCGSD). Although they have sponsored small BGCGSD events, 2017 marked their first year as an official sponsor.

The BGCGSD “Little Jumps, Big Changes” campaign addresses the “many challenges today’s youth face in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.” The campaign goal for 2018 is to raise $200,000 to support their efforts to create healthy programs and help the youth they serve in learning about nutrition, daily exercises, healthy snacks, sports teams, and fun fitness events. Throughout the month of February, individual clubs, board members, and the community can donate to the Little Jumps campaign. Each club sets a goal and the students join in fun fitness activities and help to raise funds.

Bill Howe employees are excited to join the campaign this year and are donating spare change throughout the month. Bill and Tina Howe will be matching the donation with  $2,000. “We are always happy to see our employees get involved with our community outreach,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of local San Diego plumbing company. “Our team has such a giving spirit and we are proud to support such great organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs.

The BGCGSD CHANGES LIVES through quality youth programs and guidance in a safe, affordable and fun environment. We keep our dues low and do not turn kids away because of an inability to pay. BGCGSD offers children hope and provides youth a safe haven from influences that may inhibit them from reaching their full potential as adults. We serve nearly 25,000 young people annually. Bill Howe sent us an amazing veteran plumber, Dashawn and his co- worker Anthony. Dashawn did a thorough check of the problem, explained what he thought was needed … he did a final check and we were able to see for ourselves what was the problem. He recommended a complete cleaning to de-scale the pipes, and not the major work we dreaded. Thanks to his solid analysis and patience in making sure we saw what he saw, the issue was resolved completely, and saved us thousands of unnecessary work. None of the other estimates included the cleaning; only the major repairs. Thanks to Dashawn’s knowledge, professionalism and honesty, we’re Bill Howe customers.

This was our second excellent experience with Bill Howe. We had a blocked kitchen sink drain 8/5. I was able to get a same day appointment which is AMAZING. Person on phone was very courteous and set me up right away. Tony arrived at the house (called me 30 minutes out so I was able to be ready). He diagnosed the issue (blocked drain, not the garbage compactor) and was able to snake it and ran the water for 10 minutes to be sure the drains were clear. He cleaned up everything and you would not have known he was even there. Thank-you Tony and Bill Howe, you always know how.
