San Diego Plumbers, HVAC Techs & Water Damage Specialists Recognized for Excellence

San Diego plumbers and restoration technicians sweep monthly awards at local service company

July 21, 2016 San Diego, Calif. –Bill Howe opened AM/PM Sewer and Drains in 1979 as a one truck operation. The following year, the name was changed to Bill Howe Plumbing and the company has grown from one truck to over 100 and from one division in San Diego-plumbing-to a multi divisional company making it one of the largest family owned and operated one-stop service companies in the community. Part of the longtime success is dedication to a simple mission, part of which is ensuring healthy and happy employees, by providing all the tools necessary to flourish in their career.

Bill Howe recognized the need to hire, retain and educate the Bill Howe team to the highest standards in the industry. Bill Howe offers advanced training to all employees in all divisions. Both the heating & air and the plumbing division employees are offered 100 percent paid training though the San Diego Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Academy (which offers a four-year journeyman apprentice program and a two year HVAC certification course) as well as opportunities for the restoration and flood water damage specialists to become certified through the IIRC. Bill Howe also extends advanced training to all managers, division leaders, and office staff to continue the advanced standards within the company.

Another way in which employees thrive is through ample recognition for their efforts and excellence. Bill Howe created an extensive award program within the company in 2015 (building on its long running Monthly Awards in place since the nineties) which recognizes individuals in four different categories: Above & Beyond, for employees who take that extra step to help customers, the company and their colleagues, Excellence, presented to the employee (or employees) who demonstrates quality craftsmanship, Leading by Example, for the employee who represents the high standards of Bill Howe, and Customer Service, for the employee who delivers exceptional customer Care.

At our company meeting in June, we were proud to award San Diego plumbers Brian Rice for Above & Beyond (A&B) and R.J. Bolas for Customer Service (CS), water damage specialists Carlos Sandoval, George Rivera, and Juan Santacruz for Excellence (E), and heating & air lead installer Samuel Ramirez for Leading by Example (LBE).

Award winners are chosen through a committee of managers form each division and with input from office staff and team leaders. “Our reputation in the community reflects the high standard of our team,” said Tina Howe Vice President of Bill Howe Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning in San Diego. “Because they are dedicated to providing the very best, our company is able to succeed.
