Handyman or Licensed HVAC Contractor?

What’s the difference between a San Diego HVAC Contractor and a Local Handyman?

Not every state requires licensing, certifications, or even formal training for people to perform HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) services. And many local handymen have a wide variety of skills and background to perform areas in HAVC work. However, there is a big difference between a seasoned professional and a handyman.

Training & Certifications

A licensed and trained San Diego HVAC Contractor will not only have the proper education, but in order to become certified and pass courses, they must be also up to date on all local regulations and laws that ensure safety

A local handyman may have some education or general working knowledge, but without certification, you cannot be certain they understand and adhere to all safety aspects of heating & air

Permits & Inspections

All homeowners and business owners who change out a central furnace, air conditioning, ventilation system (and many other large appliances) must have a permit pulled. When a San Diego HVAC contractor installs your system, they are bound by the California State Licensing Board to pull the appropriate permit and have a final inspection completed

Handyman services can pull permits, and the inspection would be completed by a licensed contractor. You could potentially have to hire a licensed contractor anyway, as any repairs that might come up in inspection would require one before the hob would pass and be signed off by the inspector.

Reputation

A licensed San Diego HVAC Contractor is concerned with reputation. Whether is a small company or a large operation with over 36 years of experience, like Bill Howe, licensed contractors understand that our customers will be calling us back for years to come. When you choose the right contractor, their reputation is at stake if they are not following all safety and state procedure

While it might be tempting to hire a local handyman, only a licensed contractor will have the guarantees and training to protect your property, and your family will adherence to all safety standards.

It is always best to do your research and check licenses for anyone working on your home. Not only to ensure training and knowledge to do your job right, but the CLSB will also let you know about insurance and personnel which means you are protracted by that by licensed HVAC specialists in San Diego if anything goes wrong.

Bill Howe has been your licensed HVAC specialist in San Diego since 2007, and Bill Howe has been in business since 19+80. That’s over 36 years of guarantees and education in all plumbing heating & air services.

So when you’re in need of a new furnace, air conditioner, you know who to call 1-800 Bill Howe (245-5469).

What Andy B. via Lennox Pro says about us

We have been using Bill Howe Plumbing’s service for more than 25 years and have been pleasantly surprised at how consistently they perform an excellent service call. We use them for our home and our rental properties, and their dispatchers and technicians have always been the best at problem solving; our tenants have told us how great the service is as well. When we needed air conditioning service, naturally we called Bill Howe first. There’s no reason to call anyone else. I know the job will be done right the first time, with fair pricing and professional service.
