Monty McCoy retires after 17 years of excellent service with San Diego plumbing company
September 1, 2017 San Diego, Calif. – Bill Howe Plumbing in San Diego has remained successful for over 37 years by staying true to their mission of caring for employees, customers, and their community. Monty McCoy began his career with San Diego plumbing company in 2000 and officially retired on Augusts 31, 2017. He began as a drain technician and excelled in the field as one of the best until 2005. “As I got older, being in the field became more of a challenge,” said Monty McCoy. Bill and Tina Howe immediately recognized an opportunity to have actual field experience in their customer service center and offered Monty a job as a Customer Service Representative and dispatcher. He quickly became one of the most loved CSR’s by all of the field techs and customers with his vast knowledge of plumbing.
In the 12 years Monty worked in the office, he saw many changes in operating software, plumbers being promoted, one move, and the opening of both the heating & air and restoration division. “I’m just an old drain tech,” said Monty, but he made an integral impact on the company as they grew over the last decade. Bill Howe presented Monty with a great send off, presents from the entire team, cards and plaques signed by the whole company, and a parting gift from Bill and Tina Howe.
“Monty was invaluable to understanding the communication between the field and our customer service representatives,” said Human Resource Manager, Amber Baynard. “He is loved by everyone in the company and we will miss having him around each day.”
The San Diego plumbing company has been innovative in creating and opening positions for their aging workforce. As the company has grown, they have increased warehouse positions, office and team leader positions, and promote from within the company. “As a labor-intensive industry, it is important that we take care of our team as they grow with us,” said Bill Howe.
