San Diego Plumber, Bill Howe, Promotes World Plumbing Day 2015
The Bill Howe Family of Companies promotes the role plumbing plays in the health of the nation
March 10, 2015 San Diego, Calif. – Bill Howe Plumbing is no stranger to giving back to the community. The company partners annually with American Heart Association, supports work programs for at-risk youth, has a dedicated team of volunteers at the San Diego Food Bank monthly, and sponsors employee driven initiatives on a regular basis. A true family-owned and operated business, Bill Howe Plumbing places great importance on education and training in the industry and helps to bring focus to the ways in which a licensed and trained San Diego plumber can help to protect the community.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the tsunami in Japan, the World Plumbing Council designated March 11, “World Plumbing Day.” It is an international event promoted “every year…everywhere…” educating the world on the importance of plumbing in the world. Access to clean drinking water was scarce in the aftermath of the two devastating disasters; however, there are countries that live without access to clean water and sanitary plumbing services daily. According to the World Health Organization, 1.1 billion people do not have access to safe water supplies, over 2 billion people do not have improved sanitation and millions die each year from water-related diseases.
“We believe that all service men and women should be trained and educated to keep our community safe,” said Bill Howe, President of the Bill Howe Family of Companies. “We pay for 100 percent of our plumbers’ education through the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) Journeyman program and advocate for all industry trades to do the same. Every San Diego plumber should place a priority on safe and ethical practices for the communities we serve.”
In the United States, there are strict laws in place to see that all citizens enjoy basic rights including safe water acts. Bill Howe Plumbing is a leader in the industry and has been a constant supporter of implanting and strengthening such laws for all plumbers. In San Diego, residents are fortunate to have an extensive list of licensed contractors to choose from that adhere to safe practices, and Bill Howe is honored to have been a prime choice for the past 35 years.
In honor of World Plumbing Day 2015, and for the past 3 years, Bill Howe Plumbing has presented all customers with a special World Pluming Day gift during their service on March 11.
“We will be sending each of our highly trained plumbers in San Diego with a small token of gratitude from our family,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of the Bill Howe Family of Companies. “It is our way of spreading the message of how plumbing is ‘vital to global health’ and our thanks for 35 years of support from the community.”
