Local San Diego Plumber Uses Social Media to Raise Money for Charity

The Bill Howe Family of Companies is one of San Diego’s largest low cost companies offering services in plumbing, restoration and flood, and heating and air conditioning. San Diego has been home to the family-owned company since 1980 and they have grown as leaders in the industry as well as philanthropic leaders in the local San Diego community.

Bill and Tina Howe have built their company on a three-tiered mission ensuring employees are happy and healthy with the opportunity to flourish in their careers, providing every customer with ethical and high quality work and customer service and giving back to the San Diego community that has supported them since 1980. Knowing that each of these important aspects rely on one another, the Bill Howe Family of Companies has been successful because of their dedication to excellence as a company and community leader.

Part of their business plan utilizes social media to engage their employees, customers and community. The San Diego plumber has become a local name and it made sense to create an online presence that invites engagement with the company and employees, social and professional. Part of the success of their social presence has been a continual devotion to their “pay-it-forward” spirit that the local service company in plumbing, heating and air conditioning San Diego knows them for.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, the Bill Howe Family of Companies reserved two weeks of ads on their business Facebook page to donate to raise awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds to donate. They did not call for others to donate, but simply to “like” their page. For every like, they would donate $1 to the American Cancer Society.

Starting on October 15 and going through November 1, the Bill Howe companies received 259 new page likes and are sending in a check for $259 to the ACA. Additionally, one of their own team member’s mothers is currently in remission for breast cancer and the San Diego plumber will be donating the $259.00 in honor of Barbara Glover, mother of Mike Mason, a long time Bill Howe expert drain technician.

“We are very proud to be able to reach out to our community and spread our love of “giving back,” said Tina Howe, Vice President of the Bill Howe Family of Companies. “We hope that by raising awareness, we are able to make a difference, even if it is on a small scale. Breast Cancer treatment, when diagnosed early has a great rate of success and with $259, we can ensure that at least two women in need revive much needed mammograms.”

Dashawn did a thorough check of the problem, explained what he thought was needed … he did a final check and we were able to see for ourselves what was the problem. He recommended a complete cleaning to de-scale the pipes, and not the major work we dreaded. Thanks to his solid analysis and patience in making sure we saw what he saw, the issue was resolved completely, and saved us thousands of unnecessary work. This was our second excellent experience with Bill Howe. We had a blocked kitchen sink drain 8/5. I was able to get a same day appointment which is AMAZING. Person on phone was very courteous and set me up right away. Tony arrived at the house (called me 30 minutes out so I was able to be ready). He diagnosed the issue (blocked drain, not the garbage compactor) and was able to snake it and ran the water for 10 minutes to be sure the drains were clear. He cleaned up everything and you would not have known he was even there. Thank-you Tony and Bill Howe, you always know how.
