July Award Winners Announced at Bill Howe

At the Bill Howe Family of Companies, recognition of our team is at the top of our priority. Our mission is simple, take care of our employees and ensure they are healthy and happy, and in turn they take care of our customers in San Diego.

We routinely recognize our team’s achievements, but highlight four different awards each month. At our company meeting, we present each of these awards for the outstanding technicians of the previous month. In August, we were proud to honor: San Diego plumbers, Matthew Tolar and Clarence Davis, Our San Diego’s Best Air Conditioning team, Samuel Ramirez, Ulises Castaneda, Felipe Piche, Ricardo Coca, Michael Saborit, Christina Rodriguez, Brian Dorney, and Jose Gomez, and our all-star HVAC Coordinator, Isaias Arias.

Matthew Tolar, one of our award winning San Diego plumbers, is the recipient of the Above & Beyond Award. Matthew is a graduate of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling-Contractor’s Academy Journeyman Plumbing Program, one of our Team Leader’s, and a regular volunteer with us each month. He is an incredible teacher, and trains many of our new apprentices, as well as dedicating his time to giving back to the community with our dedicated Bill Howe volunteers, and on his own. We are proud to recognize Matthew for his pay-it-forward spirit.

Our Customer Service Award was presented to Isaias Arias. Isaias is part of our HVAC department that was recently voted as San Diego’s Best Air Conditioning & Heating Company by the Union Tribune, and it is evident that his customer service skills are an integral role in our team’s achievement. During peak season in San Diego, Bill Howe receives an influx of customers needing their A/C units repaired and are often in desperate need. It is hot, especially in our inland communities, and many times people have babies and elderly loved ones to care for. Isaias handles our scheduling and customer needs with expertise and is empathetic to the needs of our customers during the incredibly hot summers.

Our third award, Leading by Example, embodies the Bill Howe Way. We have a commitment to our community and customers to provide them with the highest trained, professional, and properly equipped individuals in a timely manner. We reward one team member each month who exemplifies the Bill Howe standards and Clarence Davis is the winner for July. He had perfect attendance and arrival to his jobs, keeps his truck fully stocked and clean, looks professional at all times, receives outstanding accolades from his customers, and lives our Bill Howe Code of Ethics of honesty and integrity.

All of our team at Bill Howe perform their job with excellence, but we have been highlighting some of the more challenging jobs, or absolutely beautiful installations each month with our Excellence Award. For July, our HVAC team of Samuel Ramirez, Ulises Castaneda, Felipe Piche, Ricardo Coca, Michael Saborit, Christina Rodriguez, Brian Dorney, and Jose Gomez. They had an incredibly challenging rooftop installation at a south bay school. At one point, the team had to get the City involved to gain access in order to ensure the students would return to fully air conditioned classrooms.
