Bill Howe Family of Companies Launches New Software in San Diego Plumbing, A/C & Restoration Divisions

Bill Howe beta tested software over past year and newest dispatch and scheduling officially launches

February 29, 2016 San Diego, Calif. – Well-known San Diego A/C, plumbing and restoration company has grown from a one truck operation to one of the largest family-owned service and repair companies over the last 35 years. Offering service needs to residential and commercial customers, from simple drain snaking to new installation of HVAC units, they have succeeded in delivering one stop shopping. The company’s success continues because of a commitment to service training, new technology and valuing long-term customer relationships by saving their clients money and providing the best customer experience.

Bill Howe Family of Companies spent the last several years testing and demoing industry dispatch software across the country in an effort to upgrade to a more efficient system for the company, field employees and customers.  Both the owners, Operations Manager, IT Manager, General Manager and Lead Dispatch Manager were involved in the decision process to ensure that all areas for their software needs would be covered with the new system.

The final decision was made over two years ago, and the new software platform, Ja Ray, has been in the writing and development stages to specifically meet the needs of the Bill Howe Family of Companies’ divisions in San Diego A/C repair, plumbing and restoration.  Jay Ray was developed by a family for their own plumbing company in Kansas, Mo and the fundamental structure was the ideal fit for the growing San Diego plumbing company. However, because no two companies and regions are the same, Ja Ray has been specially designing their software to fit the needs of Bill Howe’s three divisions.

Bill Howe Heating & Air and Bill Howe Restoration & Flood Services, Inc. beta tested the software platform in each of their departments for the last year helping to work through glitches and refine the system before making the giant move company wide. “A lot of the major upgrades with Ja Ray will be with increased efficiency and information for a better customer experience,” said Tina Howe, Vice President, Bill Howe Family of Companies “With Ja Ray, the sharing of information is instantaneous and allows for customers, techs and office staff to all have the same information when they need it. It will be a fully integrated solution to increase efficiency and allow a more transparent and seamless customer service experience.”

Although the benefits are boundless, the immediate need for increased efficiency and instant access to job history and customer information by all field employees will eliminate a lot of unnecessary phone calls and waiting on answers from the office. With instant knowledge, customers will also save time and money and can rest assured that the service they are getting comes with no surprises, because every tech is prepared with all the information they need when they need it.
