June 25, 2013, 2013 San Diego, Calif. – For the third time, the Bill Howe Family of Companies has been named one of San Diego’s best places to work by the San Diego Business Journal.   The San Diego plumber, Bill Howe, began his operations in Pacific Beach in 1980 with one truck. The company has since grown into one of the largest family-owned and operated service companies serving San Diego with over 85 service trucks across three divisions: plumbing, heating & air conditioning, and restoration & flood services.

The San Diego Business Journal’s Best Places to Work in San Diego Award is presented to 100 of the “Best” San Diego employers based on a two-part assessment of the company and an in-depth and confidential employee surveys completed by the companies’ employees. The award identifies and recognizes companies exemplifying excellence in the workplace. Results of the assessment and employee responses are analyzed and categorized in eight key focus areas by The Best Companies Group: Leadership and Planning, Corporate Culture and Communications, Role Satisfaction, Work Environment, Relationship with Supervisor, Training and Development, Pay and Benefits and Overall Engagement.

The Bill Howe Family of Companies has made the list for the third time since the program came to San Diego five years ago. The San Diego plumbing company was recognized in the top 20 in 2010 and made the list a second time in 2011. Bill and Tina Howe remain as an active part of running the family-owned company. Leading by example, they have created an atmosphere engaging 100 percent of the staff in their mission of providing the best services to the local community. They boast a very low rate of turnover and high employee satisfaction; when asked, the majority of employees site “a true family environment” and “a company that cares” as the best part of working for the Bill Howe Family of Companies.
